Originally the nickname of the Mexican cook who came up with the dish back in 1943, the nacho is basically a tortilla in its simplest form – fried and covered with melted cheese and jalapeño peppers. Don’t forget to dip the chip in sour cream!

What to shop

Serves {0} portions
Nacho shells
1 packet Santa Maria Taco Shells 12-pack
1 bag Santa Maria Taco Spice Mix
1 jar Santa Maria Taco Sauce Medium 230 g
100 ml Water
200 g Grated cheese
1 tbsp Oil
400 g Minced meat

How to prepare

TIP! Top it up with fresh coriander!

  1. Fry the minced beef in the oil. Add the Original Taco Spice Mix and the water. Stir and leave to simmer for 5–10 minutes without a lid.
  2. Place the Nacho Chips in an ovenproof dish and spread the mince and the Green Jalapeños over the top. Sprinkle over the grated cheese to taste, and bake in the oven at 225°C for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  3. Serve with guacamole, dips or sour cream.
